Inventive and contributing to cost-reduction all over

CASE 1 - Hovmand A/S | Paw Schou Hansen, Logistic manager reports: 

“At Hovmand A/S where we develop and produce battery operated lifting trucks, we have a strategy about minimising our warehouses and the amount of part numbers. Furthermore, we strive to reduce the assembling and mounting time of the many components and sub-components that are parts of out lifting trucks scheme.

Deriving from this strategy, we, occasionally, pick out a few components or an entire unit and contact both current and new suppliers in the hopes that at least one of these come back to us with a radically optimised solution. Preferably,  with a creative and simplified take on the purely technical/mechanical aspect and maybe with suggestions for an alternative choice of materials and, of course: At an overall reasonable price…

Creative and inventive

It was during one of these searches for improved components at different suppliers we really discovered lpm production. From day one, they have proven to us that they can and want to do more. Here, we experience an optimism that has a basis in reality. They go beyond the expressions of intent: When they talk about maximising, they mean it literally. They are just simply creative.

They have been inventive in their take on how to produce a certain unit with a suggestion of using a kind of slide, which is a part of practically all of our products.

Development-oriented business partner

With lpm we have a convincing and development-oriented business partner, who is also capable of handling the remaining processes that occur apart from cutting and torsion: Welding, surfacing and assembly. This has reduced our time consumption on subsequent installation and reduced the amount of subcontractors.

Now, we receive finished slide units that immediately can become a part of the production flow. From one supplier. Of high and consistent quality. Delivered on time.

Creative collaboration

Often, a new supplier makes many promises. But when it is time to put it to the test, they cannot keep these promises. However, this is not the case of lpm production. In my own words, we have formed an ambitious and dependable, creative collaboration.

Of course, this is attractive to clients like us and as abovementioned lpm fits really well with our strategy on minimising the time consumption on subsequent installation - and in general reduce the number of suppliers. We can merely state that lpm production truly is fast, flexible and creative and that they are, indeed, capable of maximising.

That is why we have also asked lpm to take a look at some of our additional machine parts and components.”
